Workshop

Crafting the Query Letter You Need

With:
Brandi Larsen

The key to a winning query is understanding and articulating your book's audience. In this fast-paced four-week workshop, you'll create a query letter with an in-depth understanding of how to write your book's pitch, find its comps, and search for agents who are looking for books like yours. Attendees will work together to share and receive feedback on their pitch and query, starting in the first session with their book's one-sentence hook. Please be prepared to articulate your book's genre and upload a draft of your one-sentence book description by Friday, February 28.

Please Note: Due to the pace, this course is open only to attendees who are ready to query literary agents for the adult trade market, in fiction and non-fiction. Writers working in poetry, children's/YA, or the religious or academic markets will not benefit. Attendees should have a current polished manuscript or book proposal upon entering the intensive.
