If you want to write your memoir but have struggled to get started or otherwise feel stuck, then “Four Building Blocks of Memoir” may be the solution. This course will help you to identify and build upon the best entry points for you. All but one of these classes will focus upon one specific entry point and include an in-class free-writing exercise to help you develop this particular memoir building block. Class members who choose to share their work with the class will have this opportunity with no pressure to do so.
Everyone is welcome to provide constructive feedback and guidance. The fifth class of the course will focus upon strategies to build a plan to continue writing the memoir. At the end of the course, students will have several pieces of free writing that can be expanded upon for the memoir along with ideas on how to finish writing the book.
