Writing a memoir can seem overwhelming when taken in large gulps. Using small bites of sensory details can take writers to a place where they can more easily control chunks of the narrative. Building from small moments by using sensory elements produces stronger characters, deepens plots, and leads to big moments in your memoir. This workshop will also discuss ways in which to write about difficult events in our lives using literary craft elements to help tell our stories. Awful and ugly events can be written using artful prose to highlight the emotion rather than the ugliness and leave you feeling a sense of confidence and control over your manuscript.
