Rose Zinnia (she/they) was born in Akron, Ohio and is a poet, fiction & essay writer, editor, educator, graphic designer, and artist. She is the author of Togethering (Ledge Mule Press, 2024), a chapbook of poetry & lyric essay. Her poetry has won awards from Ninth Letter and The Academy of American Poets.

Her poetry has won awards from Ninth Letter and The Academy of American Poets and appears or is forthcoming in POETRY, CV2, Black Warrior Review, The Journal, New Ohio Review, Gulf Coast, Sycamore Review, Split This Rock, The Academy of American Poets (Poem-A-Day), Ninth Letter, Foglifter, and West Branch, among others. Rose has received fellowships from Vermont Studio Center, Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, and the Kinsey Institute. She has attended workshops at Kenyon Review & Tin House and her poetry has been a finalist and semifinalist for book prizes at Nightboat Books and Persea Books. She holds an MFA from Indiana University, where she taught creative writing & literary editing/publishing and received awards from the Kinsey Institute and the Academy of American Poets. She has served as Associate Editor at Indiana Review and as a reader for an AWP. From 2010-2022, she founded and served as editor and art director of Monster House Press and the journal poiesis, where she co-organized two award-winning reading series. She lives in Cleveland, Ohio where she works as a graphic designer and as Community & Production Assistant for the LGBTQ+ press & journal Foglifter.
