CPL Free Workshop: Writing Historical Fiction w/ Paterson Joseph (In Person)

With:
Paterson Johnson

Join Paterson Joseph, author of the acclaimed novel The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho, for a two-part workshop on the art and craft of writing historical fiction. This hybrid workshop will start with one virtual session and a second session in-person with the author at the Main Cleveland Public Library's Louis Stokes Wing.

Mr. Joseph will discuss finding inspiration in historical people and events, how the past can shed light on current social issues and provide practical tools for bringing the past to life on the page. He will also do an author Q&A after the workshop.

This workshop is for writers of all levels.

This page contains the link to register for the in-person workshop on Saturday, July 27th, from 1-3:30pm at the Main Cleveland Public Library's Louis Stokes Wing (525 Superior Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114). After this workshop, participants are invited to stay for a special author Q&A.

You can also register separately on the LIT CLE website to attend the virtual session on Wednesday, July 17th, from 6-7:30pm via Teams.

These free workshops are sponsored by Cleveland Public Library in partnership with the BorderLight Festival.
